Notes:Verified with Flora of China online draft and Rehder, A.'Synopis of the Genus Lonicera', Annual Report, Missouri Botanical Garden. 14. 1903. Sect. Isoxylosteum, subsect. Microstylae. Erect shrub, branched. Branches with solid white pith. Stems reddish. Leaves, bracts and petioles glandular hairy. Petiole up to 2mm long, leaves opposite, leaf blade variable in shape, mostly obovate, up to 3 cm long and 1.5 cm wide. Peduncles axillary, flowers paired. Bracts linear to lanceolate, often longer than calyx tube. Bracteoles fused in cup, almost as long as ovary. Corolla white-pinkish and glabrous outside, hairy inside, tubular-campanulate, with 4 lobes. Corolla tube longer than corolla lobes. Anthers and stigma inserted in corolla tube, styles shorter than stamens. Ovaries of neighbouring flowers completely fused. Fruit red, globose.
