Notes: Verified with Flora iberica online ( and Rosua, J.L. 'El complejo Rosmarinus eriocalyx-tomentosus en la peninsula iberica' Anales. Jard. Bot. Madrid 37:594. 1981. Leaves to 16mm long, wooly hairy with dendritic branched hairs. Corolla purple with yellow and purple markings. Stamens 2, exserted and spurred at base. Staminodes 2, very small. Calyx mainly with glandular hairs and sessile glands. Hybrid R. officinalis x tomentosus differ in habit and calyx indumentum.

Locality: Spain, Granada, 2km E of Calahonda. Coast road between Castello de Ferro and Calahonda.

Field notes: Very exposed coastal cliffs, roadsides and disturbed lay-by. Calcareous cliffs, possibly with some gypsum. R. officinalis also present. Morphology of R.tomentosus, but with erect growth habit of R. officinalis. Plant to 50cm (R. tomentosus hybrid ?)
