Notes: Verified with Flora of China online ( and Wang Wen-Tsai 'A revision of Clematis sect. Clematis' Acta Phyto. Sin. 41(1):1-62 (2003). Leaves 5 foliolate with long rachis. Leaflets 3 lobed or serrate, terminal one long petiolulate. Leaf blade hirsute with raised veins abaxially and not drying black. Young stem silvery hairy. Stem 6 ribbed. Inflorescence a terminal panicle or lateral on old wood. Flowers to 25mm across, sepals 5 valvate. Petals white hairy abaxially and adaxially to 17 x 5mm. Flowers sligthly scented. Carpels hairy, styles feathery to 3cm long. Filaments glabrous. Similar to 2001-772 .

Field notes: Very steep W-facing limestone hillside of small trees and shrubs opposite cultivated farmland in narrow valley. Climber over rose.
