Notes: Verified with Hilliard, O.M. 'Compositae in Natal' 1977. Spindly aromatic shrub. Leaves imbricate with sheathing base. Leaves abaxially wooly with raised veins, adaxially glutinous, glandular with impressed veins. Capitula grouped in a tight head surrounded by leaf -like bracts. Capitula heterogamous, few female florets on the margin. Capitula to 5mm long, phyllaries margin scarious, brown at apex. Florets all discoid yellow turning brown. Anthers with tails. Pappus not branched as long as the florets. Style base swollen, stigmas with terminal pappilae. Cypsela glandular, flat. Receptacle with pit margins shorter than ovaries. Inner phyllaries are meant to have bright yellow appendages but this has small brown appendages, variable species.
