Notes:Verified with Flora of China online (DRAFT) and Reyder, A. 'Synopsis of the Genus Lonicera' in Annual Reports of the Missouri Botanical Garden 14 (1903). Hardy, evergreen climber with white flowers, flecked with purple inside, yellowing with age. Young branches covered with yellow-brown, curved hairs. Flowers in pairs on long peduncles. Corolla 2-lipped. Calyx tube glabrous. Bracts small, subulate. Bracteoles smaller than bracts, ovate. Style hairy below the middle. Leaves opposite, not connate at the base, glabrous except for hairs along the margins. Section Nintooa, subsection Breviflorae.

Field notes:On grassy slopes below Tsuga chinensis var. formosa, Pinus taiwaniana and Pinus armandii var. masteriana. Frequently seen scrambling through undergrowth but here a ground covering species.
