Notes: Verified with Schatz, E. 'Generic Tree Flora of Madagascar' and Bulletin du Jard. Bot. de Bruxelles 49(239)1979-52(311)1982-53(299)1983 and 57(39)1987. Leaves glossy green with domatia. Leaves with tuft of hairs in veins axils. Stipules fused around stem with long setae on each side. Flowers in sessile glomerules in axil of leaves. Calyx rim-like to campanulate. Flowers 5-merous, white to 2mm long, hairy at mouth. Anthers half protruding. Ovary 2 locular with more than 5 ovules in each locule. Corolla lobes contorted in bud. Nectary disc orange yellow. Flowers should be funcionally female.
