Notes: Verified with Anita Fabian & Gerrit Germishuizen 'Wild Flowers of Northern South Africa' Stem to 20cm tall. Basal leaves much longer, glabrous. Sheath as long as wide. Flowers solitary. Epicalyx scales 4, 1/3 as long as the calyx, gradually acuminate at apex. Calyx to 27mm long cylindical narrowed at apex. Petals fuchsia-pink, blade to 10mm long dentate at apex (teeth to 2mm long). Petals not bearded.

Field notes: Seed list no.613. Clumps of very loose leaves which look grass-like. The pink flowers are deeply fringed and held on fine stems just above the leaves.
