Gazetteer:5 km from Geza (Gezancun) towards Langdoucun. Top of the pass.
Coordinates: 28.1471 N, 99.9042 E  Alt: 4521m 

Dwarf shrub. Leaves ciliate. Flowers purple. Corolla 5-lobed with darker spots on lip. Stamens 10 anthers. Calyx reddish, ciliate.
Alpine scree. NW-facing slope 45 with Rhododendron, Primula, Cassiope.

Identification Notes:Verified with Flora of China online Subgenus Rhododendon. Section Rhododendron, Subsection Saluenensia. Leaves with dense, peltate scales abaxially, very sparse on some leaves adaxially. Calyx lobes with sparse scales along central midrib. Style without scales. Corolla with very few scattered scales and sparsely pubescent outside.
