Yunnan 2010 Caprifoliaceae for the Flora of China


Viola delavayi Franch.    

Region:Yunnan; Li Jiang Shi Prefecture; Yulongxueshan
Gazetteer:Kunming Institute of Botany, Alpine Botanic Garden protected area.
Coordinates: 27.0024 N, 100.1873 E  Alt: 3216m 

Herb 10 cm tall. Flowers yellow, lip with black lines. Leaves slightly fleshy, glaucous beneath.
Rocky outcrop in Pinus yunnanensis forest with moss, ferns, Rhododendron, Polygonum, Roscoea, Delphinium and Dipelta.

Identification Notes:Verified with Flora of China online Subgenus Dischidium. Stipules to 10mm long free, smaller towards base of plant. Rhizome short. Flowers with short spur. Petals not bearded.
