Gazetteer:Walk from the Kunming Institute of Botany, field station to the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.
Coordinates: 27.0373 N, 100.1769 E  Alt: 4016m 

Rosette plant with dark purple leaves and milky sap. Capitula of 4-5 bluish-purple ligulate florets. Ligules 5-toothed. Phyllaries pinkish-purple. Anther tube dark blue.
SW-facing slope, 45. Growing in loose, muddy, gravelly scree.

Identification Notes:Verified with Flora of China online Tribe CICHORIEAE (Lactuceae). Phyllaries in a single row, fused at the base. Pappus drying brown. Pappus hairs unbranched and of equal length.
